Abstract
The article by Duff et al. regarding inpatient care is a very important article because it focuses on the many unnecessary hospital admissions at community hospitals. My own personal experience coincides with their figures. Why are there so many unnecessary hospitalizations? I am sure that pediatrics is not the only field that has many unnecessary hospitalizations, but community hospitals are very ill equipped for intensive pediatric care, unless the hospital has a sound university affiliation.
