Abstract
Over the past decade, blockchain technology has been established as a critical technological tool to enhance operations in diamond supply chains. In this paper, we first discuss the use of blockchain technology in supply chain operations. Then, we examine the operations in a typical diamond supply chain. We reveal how blockchain technology can be used in diamond supply chains. After that, we examine the closely related literature. Then, we report a few real world cases of using blockchain technology in the diamond industry. We also discuss challenges regarding the deployment and implementation of blockchain technology in diamond supply chains. Finally, we build a future research agenda to outline some promising directions for further studies.
