Abstract
The use of touchscreen devices amongst children has dramatically increased in the last 10–15 years. Although there have been some research and studies conducted previously about the use of these technologies by older children and adolescents, there is not enough information about toddlers and preschoolers use of these devices. In this paper, we present a pilot study of 166 parents, who were surveyed about their views and approaches concerning their 0–5 year olds' use of touch screen devices. The findings revealed that smartphones/tablets are being used by 0–5 years old children for various activities, and that parents have both negative and positive perspectives toward the use of these devices by their children.
