Abstract

Faculty and graduate students at Washington State University were surveyed regarding access to geoscience literature before and after the introduction of the GeoRef CD-ROM. These researchers accepted this computerized means of access to the geoscience literature, but continued to consult other pertinent indexes or abstracts. Use of interlibrary loan increased after the CD-ROM was made available. During the study period, the database was successfully shared by making it available in the library and the departmental computer laboratory on different days of the week. Different versions of the search software were available at each location and need for instruction varied with the version used.
