Abstract

The article discusses the concept of "Urban village", it presents the results of its application to the analysis of historical centers of large post-Soviet cities: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Samara, Odessa and Tbilisi. An att empt has been made to develop this concept. The features of the "urban village" and changes of the historical centers of these cities from the late 19th century to 2020th are analyzed.
