Abstract
Background With the rapid progress in anesthesiology, the update of guidelines in anesthesia is of great help to promote the quality of clinical anesthesia. Objective To review the guidelines and consensus published in 2017. Content This review summarizes guidelines and consensus covering perioperative cardiac risk assessment and management for patients undergoing noncardiac surgery, preoperative fasting, peri-operative management of anaemia and iron deficiency, postoperative delirium, and blood management for adult cardiac surgery, and highlights main points. Trend Anesthesiologists should track and be familiar with the latest guidelines in the field, which will help standardize clinical practice in anesthesia and improve the quality and safety of healthcare.
