Abstract
The synthesis of biotinylated α and β T-antigens to be used as probes for the detection of a human melanoma-associated lectin is described, the reduction/acetylation of the disaccharide 5β results in an unusual cyclisation reaction ( 8) which was not observed with the α anomer.
