Abstract

Abstract Properties of spurious scattering have been investigated in various batches of nuclear emulsions type NIKFI-R with thickness of 400 μm. It will be shown that the variation of spurious scattering from batch to batch is greater than variation in emulsions developed in different ways. The mean value of the second differences increases with increasing dip angle of the measured tracks, but the mean value of the third differences remains constant. Spurious scattering measured in the same plate on tracks of particles with different momenta (3.5 GeV/c and 10 GeV/c) shows an agreement in the second differences and differs slightly in the third differences.
