Abstract
Self-sustained rate oscillations during isothermal CO oxidation over a 3.14 wt.% Pt/SiO2 catalyst are reported at a total pressure of 2.1 mbar. Oscillations prevail over a very wide range of CO/O2 ratios and can be explained with external mass transfer limitations.
