Abstract
Diesel engines will only conform to the impending European and North American emissions limits with high performance injection systems. Together with Volkswagen, Siemens VDO Automotive has therefore developed the piezo unit injector (PUI), which allows more than 2,000 bar peak injection pressure and even more precise control of the injection process and injection quantities. The unit injector diesel engines with these PUI elements have unrivalled acoustic properties and conform to the exhaust standard Euro 4.
