Abstract

Two new uniplanar power dividers using asymmetric coplanar striplines and slotlines with phase inverters are proposed. The phase inverter is firstly applied to the uniplanar power divider, which can increase the output isolation and its bandwidth. The new power dividers are implemented according to the alteration of the Wilkinson power divider. To replace the isolation resistor in the Wilkinson power divider by a phase inverter, two sections of transmission lines and two resistors, the power dividers have more than 160% bandwidth of 20 dB output port-to-port isolation. Experimental results also show that the fractional bandwidths are more than 50%, on the conditions of 20 dB return loss, less than 3.3 dB insertion loss (3 dB for ideal coupling) and 3deg phase imbalance.
