Abstract

We derive a set of energy-dependent Skyrme interaction parameters to be used in the calculation of the complex heavy-ion optical potential. They are determined by fitting the binding energy of 16O as well as nuclear matter constants and the real volume part of the 16O+ 16O optical potential previously obtained from the Reid soft-core interaction. For the binding energy of heavier nuclei and the single-particle levels the present parameters lead to predictions comparable with those of other Skyrme interactions. The charge radii turn out to be somewhat smaller than the experimental values but a better fit cannot be achieved within the present constraints.
