Abstract

With use of the asymptotic-integration technique, amendments to the uniaxial field of stresses and the homogeneous velocity field in the problem on extending a flat thin rigid-plastic sheet of variable thickness from an incompressible material are found when setting the velocity of mutual removal of the sheet end faces from each other. The thin-layer approximation with the natural small geometrical (asymptotic) parameter equal to the ratio of the average sheet thickness to its length is used.
