Abstract

The stability of the complexes of lanthanum and the lanthanides with 1,2-diamino-cyclohexane-N,N,N′,N′-tetraacetic acid was studied by means of paper electrophoresis. The variation in electrophoretic mobility was studied as a function of the pH and of the anionic concentration of the ligand. The conditions for maximum electrophoretic separation were determined. The instability constants were calculated by two methods and their dependence on the atomic number of the lanthanides was examined.
