(Homoptera, Coccoidea, Pseudococcidae).A new pest of Cassava has appeared in recent years in Western Africa; it belongs to a yet unknown species of Coccids, here described and figured as Phenacoccus manihoti n. sp. The morphological characters of the adult ♀ and the three ♀ larval instars are given in detail. Parasites and predators are mentionned.
