Abstract

The incidence of kidney stones has been noted to be 8.4% in the United States as of 2010, a dramatic increase from 5.2% in 1994 based on analysis of NHANES data [1]. The rising incidence, morbidity and cost of kidney stone disease place a major burden on the U.S. healthcare system [2,3].
