Abstract

Most women experience normal progress in pregnancy and recovery after the birth is usually uneventful. However, in a few cases, complications may arise. Maternity support workers (MSWs) are in frequent contact with childbearing women and are in a good position to observe their health and hear their concerns. The midwife responsible for the woman's care can then be alerted at an early stage.
