Abstract

This entry provides a definition of undercover reporting and an overview of the debates surrounding practices of deception and ethical considerations that arise when assessing and balancing the public interest vis‐à‐vis journalistic practices that might stand in contravention of ethical codes of conduct as well as considerations of safeguarding the public's trust in journalism.
