Abstract

Paediatric end-stage renal disease is a rare disorder, with an annual incidence of 1–3 per million population. Chronic peritoneal dialysis (PD) is an established form of renal replacement therapy and it is dialysis modality of first choice in the majority of children and adolescents. The key to successful chronic peritoneal dialysis (PD) is permanent and safe access to the peritoneal cavity.
