Abstract
We study theoretical and experimental problems of the development and operation of ultrasonic tomographic technologies and systems for nondestructive testing and technical diagnostics and suggest a new methodology of the application of these technologies and systems for the indicated purposes. We describe new ultrasonic tomographic systems aimed at the reconstruction of acoustic images of the internal structure of defects in products made of contemporary highly inhomogeneous composite materials as well as at the reconstructions of three-dimensional distributions of the elastic and strength characteristics in the bulk of heavy-plate metallic products in the case of one-sided access to their surface. We also present the description of all stages of the developed informational tomographic technologies and procedures of ultrasonic diagnostics and display experimental acoustic images of interior volumes of products, which can be used for the diagnostics of defective or “predefective” states of the material.
