Abstract

The separation method in connection with integral transform methods and point source synthesis was applied successfully to obtain a calculation program for the design of ultrasonic transducers with harmonic excitation. The design of a focussed transducer for testing a press fit between shaft and hub in immersions technique is demonstrated. For the calculation of transient wave fields an optimized approximation method, based on the separation method and a superposition of time-harmonic waves is introduced and verified by an exact method. This gives the chance for the development of a fast tool for broadband transducer design for layered test objects with curved interfaces.
