Abstract

AbstractThe coherent dynamics of Fano resonances in GaAs are studied under magnetic field using femtosecond four‐wave mixing (FWM). In this system Coulomb coupling bel ween magnetoexciton and continuum states gives rise to Fano interference. By time‐resolving the FWM signal it is shown that dephasing of the coherent emission from a Fano resonance is dominated by the coupling to the continuum. Unlike Lorentzian resonances, the decay of the time‐integrated FWM signal is not related to dephasing. This surprising behavior is due to the interplay between Fano interference and Coulomb correlation in a semiconductor.
