Abstract
Abstract The ultimobranchial body of Rana cyanophlyctis is a solid ball-like structure at the earliest stage (32) considered in the present study. At the hind limb bud stage (33) the gland assumes a follicular structure. During prometamorphosis the gland increases in size due to cellular proliferation. At the time of metamorphic climax formation of secondary follicles is observed.
