Abstract

Abstract UGIMA 4570 is a resulfurized grade with calcium added. The steelmaking is carefully controlled and produces a composition with low-melting-point oxides, which produce a lubricating effect during machining. Gains in the cutting condition of 30 to 70% are typical on computer numerical control (CNC) lathe or classical machine work. The alloy is similar to UGIMA NSU but contains additional copper. This datasheet provides information on composition and physical properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-713. Producer or source: Ugine-Savoie. Originally published April 1998, revised October 1998.
