Abstract

The IEEE Signal and Power Integrity (SPI) Workshop started in 1997 following an intuition of a group of researchers from the University of Hannover, Germany. At that time, it was already clear that interconnects were going to be one of the major limiters of system performance in the years to come. The first edition of the conference was thus named IEEE Workshop on Signal Propagation on Interconnects and took place in Travemunde, Germany, with a strong technical focus on understanding, modeling and simulating the physics of interconnects.
