Abstract

Feasibility of using starch derived glycol-glycosides for depolyemerising PET waste recycled from post consumer soft drink bottles and the use of the depolymerised oligomers for synthesizing liquid polyester polyol by reacting these oligomers with SOFA for urethane coatings has been studied. The performance properties reveals that the coatings formed can successfully be used for applications in Industrial Maintenance finishes, and are considerably influenced by the amount of PET.
