Abstract
AbstractTwo new sesquiterpene lactones, namely 8‐O‐methylsenecioylaustricin (1) and epi‐8α‐angeloyloxycichoralexin (2), as well as a new triterpene glycoside (taraxasterol‐3‐O‐β‐D‐glucoside, 3), together with the three known sesquiterpene lactones lactucin (4), lactucopicrin (5), and 11β,13‐dihydrolactucin (6), were isolated from the stems of Cichorium glandulosum Boiss. et Huet. The chemical structures were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic methods.
