Abstract
This paper describes numerical investigations of the behavior of shock propagating in a rectangular elbow. In order to numerically simulate the flowfield, two dimensional numerical calculations were made, based on the time splitting method and the piecewise-linear-method (PLM). The computer schlieren technique was applied to visualize the flow pattern. The behavior of the reflected shock waves for the cases of subsonic and supersonic flows behind and incident shock wave were investigated.
