Abstract

The effect of bichromatic electromagnetic field on the tunneling dynamics of a particle moving in a bistable potential with a fluctuating barrier is examined. In presence of bichromatic electromagnetic field we observed stochastic resonance like behaviour, i.e., tunneling rate passes through a maximum when plotted as a function of barrier fluctuation frequency and it increases with the increase in the ratio of the frequencies of two fields. We have also investigated the effect of the phase difference of the two electric fields on the tunneling rate constant both in absence and presence of barrier fluctuation.
