Abstract
In this issue of Chem Catalysis, Zhang, Ma, Marek, et al. report a highly enantioselective carbene-transfer reaction of 2,2,2-trifluorodiazoethane (CF3CHN2) and challenging disubstituted alkynes. Key to the success of this approach is the fine-tuning of chiral dirhodium(II) carboxylate paddlewheel complexes featuring a molecule of dioxane as achiral axial ligand.
