Abstract

We have carried out experimental and theoretical investigations of a tunable coherent soft X-ray radiation source in the wavelength range based on the generation of high-order harmonics of femtosecond laser radiation propagating in a dielectric xenon-filled capillary. The long path of laser pulse propagation through the capillary permits tuning the generated harmonic wavelengths to almost completely span the range under consideration.
