Abstract
Abstract A seismic monitoring pilot survey was acquired in September 1998 for the purpose of qualifying time lapse seismic technology on the Troll West oil field. The main objectives for seismic monitoring on Troll West are to detect areas containing undrained oil and to reduce the uncertainties related with simulated contact movements. The seismic monitoring study has established effective methods for both seismic processing sequences, 4D analysis and history matching, and it has been shown that the seismic monitoring technology is useful on the Troll West oil field.
