Abstract
The efficient detection of toxic substances is a very important task. Herein, a tripodal receptor TM employing three aroyl hydrazone moieties as binding sites has been designed and used for the selective determination of Hg2+ and Br−. The TM shows AIE properties and could selectively relay fluorescent response for Hg2+ and Br−. The detection limit (LOD) for Hg2+ and Br− is found to be 4.95 × 10−8 M and 1.7 × 10−6 M. More interestingly, the TM could be used for fluorescent sensing Hg2+ and Br− in living cells with high sensitivities.
