Abstract

The triple-differential cross sections for the electron impact ionisation of helium have been calculated in the Coulomb-projected Born (CPB) and polarised CPB approximations. The results have been compared with various recent coplanar and non-coplanar measurements. The inclusion of the target polarisation changes the cross sections very little. The overall trend of the results is found to be comparable, looking at the uncertainties of available experimental data, with that of Bransden et al. (1978).
