Trip Hawkins left his position as director of product marketing at Apple Computer to start Electronic Arts (EA) in 1982, which continues to operate today as one of the largest publishers of video games in the world. EA has since produced many foundational games, such as Pinball Construction Set and M.U.L.E., and best-selling franchises, such as The Sims, Rock Band, and Madden NFL.
