Abstract
In this paper, a tri-band metamaterial-inspired monopole antenna is proposed for multi-band wireless applications. A metamate- rial consisting of three dual-band modifled S-shaped resonators (MSRs) is directly connected to a regular monopole element, which can not only support the two WiFi bands but also bring the resonant frequency of monopole element down to the WiMAX band while the length of the antenna is maintained unchanged. The simulated and measured results verify our design for the wireless applications.
