Abstract
The modern society is one of knowledge and today the significance of education and the duration of study periods is growing more and more, including with reference to the higher school. This trend is manifested in all countries, regardless of their level of development. The Republic of Moldova is no exception. In this context, changes are needed in the field of national education, in order to increase its quality and performance and harmonize it with the realities at European level. In this article we aim to identify the main trends facing the field of education in the Republic of Moldova as a country of the Eastern Partnership and to outline some sustainable solutions to overcome the existing challenges, including inspired by the good practices of educational management in the countries of the European Union, highlighting the contribution of European projects to the development of national university education.
