Abstract

Despite the availability of a multitude of therapeutic modalities, the treatment of keloids and hypertrophic scars remains extremely challenging. There is no clinical consensus regarding the most appropriate treatment, although currently available data support the use of silicone gel sheeting and intralesional steroid injections as first-line options. In general, outcomes appear to be improved when combination therapy is used.
