Abstract

In the last years the modelling of the transport of conservative chemical substances made major progress. However, modelling of the transport behaviour of solutes reacting either within the aqueous phase or at the solid/water or soi id/gas interfaces have to consider reactions as dissolution — precipitation, acid — base reactions, oxidation reduction reactions, complexation and adsorption desorption. The transport behaviour can be differentiated for the following groups of pollutants: organic pollutants polar organic substances non polar organic substances inorganic pollutants heavy metals others (e.g. nitrogen and sulfur compounds)
