Abstract
We investigate the existence of transformation operators mapping systems of orthogonal polynomials generated by self-adjoint operators with different spectra. An interpolation between the spectra allows us to write a transmutation relation between functions of both operators. After showing a factorization result, we shall examine an example using hypergeometric functions
