Abstract

Analysis of the transient ultrasonic fields radiated in solids by nonuniformly excited and focusing annula has been performed. The influence of the number of annula in the array on the structure of the particle velocity fields radiated has been investigated. The different driving stress profiles on the radiating surface create substantially differing spatial-temporal distributions of axial and radial components of the particle velocity.
