Abstract

The interaction of ethyltitanium trichloride with triethylaluminium and diethylaluminium chloride during sequential condensation of titaniumorganic and aluminiumorganic compounds on a cooled cesium iodide plate was studied by IR spectroscopy. It was found that diethyltitanium dichloride is first formed, yielding titanium trichloride by decomposition. The system titanniumorganic compound-aluminium alkyl becomes active in stereoscpecific polymerization only at the stage of titanium trichloride formation.
