Abstract

Active urban processes associated with the city development, central part expansion, the neighbourhoods integration into city structure, de-industrialization and the transfer of production to new industrial zones have exacerbated urban planning problems: the crisis of industrial cities, the emergence of large unused industrial areas both in the central part and on the periphery, which create disharmony in the architectural and landscape environment and disrupt the functional structure of the city. At the same time, post-industrial territories, located in dense urban development, represent a significant land resource and create opportunities to fill the city scape with functional and investment ready opportunities that represent effective ways of their redevelopment. The revitalization of post-industrial facilities located in the central part of historically formed cities is considered in the context of the development of the genesis of both the spatial structure of the city and the features of industrial and economic activities of former enterprises. Attention is focused on identifying the unique spatial potential of territories, taking into account the historical, cultural, socio-ecological components, natural and landscape conditions. Priorities have been identified that will increase the attractiveness of post-industrial areas, fill the urban space with modern infrastructure, and affect the aesthetic values of the architectural and landscape environment. The problem of the functional-spatial transformation of post-industrial territories of historically formed cities, the identification of architectural and urban planning solutions for the integration of former industrial objects into the active spaces of the city by means of their revitalization is considered on the example of Ivano-Frankivsk.
