Abstract
Purpose: Retrochiasmatic craniopharyngiomas comprise 15 to 30% of all craniopharyngiomas. They present a surgical challenge due to their hidden location. Approaching them through the anterior subfrontal approach risks injury to the chiasmatic perforators and through the classic trans-sylvian approach results in a limited exposure. We hereby present our experience using the transclinoidal approach which enhanced the craniopharyngiomas' exposure in 10 cases.
