Batik Rifaiyah is a cultural heritage of the Rifaiyah Community located in Kalipucang Wetan Village, Batang Regency, Central Java. It serves as an expression of Islamic spirituality. This type of Batik represents artistic craftsmanship and is a medium for teaching Islamic values through symbols and motifs. However, understanding the philosophical values and foundational aspects of Rifaiyah Batik is currently limited to the oral traditions passed down by batik makers and the Rifaiyah Community, with insufficient written documentation. This study aims to explore and comprehend the fundamental principles of Rifaiyah Batik as a manifestation of Islamic spiritual art, focusing on the Pelo Ati and Materos Satrio motifs. The research employs a qualitative method utilizing a social phenomenology approach. It includes observations of the batik motifs, in-depth interviews with batik makers, and a review of relevant literature. The analysis is guided by the Pyramid Base Guiding Craft Innovation theory, which identifies four crucial dimensions in the batik tradition: Traditional Artifacts, Traditional Ecology, Teaching of Tradition, and Non-Material Culture. The findings reveal that Rifaiyah Batik reflects Islamic values through theological, aesthetic, and artistic ethics. Theologically, it avoids depicting living beings, using arabesque to express Tawheed. Aesthetically, its colors are inspired by the Qur'an. Artistically, its meticulous craftmanship is an act of worship.

This study aims to determine the perception of batik on the benefits of batik competency certification in Malang Raya, East Java. Competency certification is considered an effort to improve the quality of human resources (HR) in the batik industry, especially in the face of global competition and economic challenges after the Covid-19 pandemic. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews with three batik makers who have taken the competency test. The data was analyzed using triangulation techniques to ensure the validity and reliability of the research results. The results of the study show that batik has a diverse perception of competency certification. Most batik makers see certification as a tool to increase credibility and competitiveness, although some consider it only a formality. Batik also realizes the importance of certification in improving the quality of batik production and marketing. However, there is still ignorance about the differences in certifications issued by various institutions and the long-term benefits of such certifications. Competency certification has the potential to improve the quality and competitiveness of batik, but more intensive socialization is needed regarding the benefits and certification procedures so that batik can utilize it optimally.

Population growth as a result of a subsequent increase in the economic center and industrial complex construction has also proven to influence the shallow groundwater occurrence in Batang Regency, Central Java, Indonesia. The region per se, had a minimum amount of observation and literature, especially regarding the issue namely groundwater flow pattern and facies distribution. This research discussed hydrogeological assessment through systematic mapping to investigate shallow groundwater occurrence, including 90 observation & measurement points consisting of 89 dug well and one water spring. Based on purposive random sampling with upstream-downstream consideration, 73 of 90 samples were analyzed in the laboratory to determine groundwater hydrochemistry. The results indicated that the shallow groundwater pattern in Batang Regency generally flows from south to north with a dominant southwest-northeast pattern. Based on the trilinear piper diagram, shallow groundwater facies in the study area are characterized by calcium bicarbonate, alkaline chloride, alkaline bicarbonate, and mixed types. The distribution of calcium bicarbonate facies is widely spread in the southern part of the study area. In contrast, alkaline bicarbonate is mainly found between the coastline and hilly in the south. On the other hand, alkaline chloride is distributed evenly along the coastal area. Intermixing of different groundwater facies is expected due to its positive correlation between TDI and major ions plot in the composition diagram.
