Abstract

Experience with plastic tracheostomy tubes suggests specific advantages in managing the problems associated with tracheostomy in infants and children. A technic of tracheostomy adapted to the infant is described, and the use of tracheal stay sutures for controlled tube insertion is emphasized. Experience with 62 cases is the background for this report.
