Abstract

Summary Eleven cases of postnecrotic cirrhosis in children, proved histologically, are described. Clinically, either the onset was acute, with jaundice, parenchymatous failure, death in 5 of the 7 patients, or the picture was one of portal hypertension, with or without ascites, a more benign course. Pathologically the appearances are those of the nodular form of cirrhosis with reticulin rather than collagen fibers predominating in the supporting f ramework.
