Abstract

This book on lattice theory is organized into four parts. Part I, including chapters 1 and 2, describes the origins of lattice theory as well as a relevant literature review. Part II, including chapters 3-7, details novel mathematical tools as well as a number of algorithms for clustering, classification, and regression. Part III, including chapters 8-10, presents both experimental results and connections with established paradigms. Part IV, including chapters 11 and 12, discusses practical implementation issues. The three appendices include useful mathematical definitions, mathematical proofs of theorems in this book. and useful geometric interpretations on the plane. The presentation of the material is clear, concise, and systematic and the text is straightforward and understandable. This timely book is an excellent choice for readers who wish to familiarize themselves with a promising, emerging technology.
