Abstract

This special issue of Tourism Management focuses on the development of transnationalism which is assuming a growing importance within the tourism industry. More sophisticated communications technology and the increasing global participation in tourism puts the transnational corporations, able to reduce unit costs, in the best position to profit from the ever more ‘globalized’ markets.
