Abstract
Three specific dopamine-related genes have been associated with a spectrum of disorders including Tourette syndrome (TS), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), conduct disorders and stuttering, reports May 31, 1996, American Journal of Medical Genetics . The genes9 effect was found to be additive, meaning severity increases with each one of the three genes a person carries. Subjects were 225 TS patients, 60 patient relatives with TS, 132 relatives without TS and 67 controls at a California medical center9s Tourette clinic.
